These terms of use set the rules for docteam.be: accounts, forums, profiles, mod downloads, the BETA area, the Whoniverse SMP and inventory items. You accept them when you create an account, or the next time you use your account if it was created before these terms. If you visit the website without an account, the rules that concern visitors also apply to you. The website is published by DocTeam, whose details are in the legal notice.
1. Your account
- You can create an account from the age of 13. If you are under 13, one of your parents or your legal guardian must agree first.
- Give a valid e-mail address that belongs to you. One account per person.
- Choose a username that does not pretend to be someone else, a DocTeam team member, the BBC, Mojang or Microsoft, and that is not offensive.
- Keep your password and your Minecraft link code secret. You are responsible for what is done with your account. Tell us quickly if you think someone else is using it.
- You can delete your account at any time in your settings. What happens then is explained on the page about your GDPR rights.
2. Community rules
DocTeam is a community of players of all ages. On the forums, on profiles, on the Whoniverse SMP and on our Discord server:
- be respectful: no insults, harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination;
- publish nothing illegal, sexual, violent or shocking, or unsuitable for young players;
- no spam, advertising, chain messages or links to scams or malware;
- do not share cracked versions of Minecraft or of other paid software, nor content you do not have the right to share;
- never publish other people's personal details, and be careful with your own;
- post in the right category, use a clear title, and report bugs with enough details to reproduce them;
- do not pretend to be a member of the DocTeam team.
Our Discord server is also subject to Discord's own terms.
3. What you publish
- You keep the rights to what you publish: posts, pictures, bio and profile posts. You must own those rights or have permission to publish the content.
- By publishing on docteam.be, you give DocTeam a free, non-exclusive licence, valid worldwide, to host, store, reproduce and display your content on the website and to adapt its layout for display, for example in previews, excerpts or links shared on social networks. This licence lasts as long as your content is online.
- Forum threads and posts stay online after you delete your account so that discussions still make sense. They are then shown as written by “Deleted user”. You can edit your posts before deleting your account, or ask us to remove specific posts.
- You are responsible for what you publish. Pictures you upload are public at their own address.
4. Moderation and sanctions
- Moderators and administrators can edit, move, lock or delete threads and posts, and delete profile posts, when they break these terms or the law.
- Administrators can also suspend an account, remove inventory items, unlink a Minecraft account and exclude a player from the Whoniverse SMP.
- Sanctions depend on how serious and how frequent the breach is: a warning, removal of content, a temporary or permanent suspension. For serious breaches, we can act without a warning.
- If you disagree with a decision about your content or your account, write to us: we will explain the reason and review the decision.
To report content that you believe is illegal, send us the exact address of the page, explain why it is illegal and give your name and e-mail address. We handle reports carefully and remove content that turns out to be illegal promptly.
5. Mods and BETA versions
- DocTeam's mods are free. You need your own genuine copy of Minecraft: Java Edition and the mod loader indicated on the mod's page.
- Download our mods only from docteam.be or from the official pages we link to, such as CurseForge or Modrinth. Unless we say otherwise, do not upload them elsewhere, sell them or present them as your own: share a link to their page instead.
- Mods are provided as they are, without any warranty. They can contain bugs, conflict with other mods or damage a world: back up your worlds before installing or updating a mod.
- BETA versions and news are reserved for members with access to the BETA area. They are unfinished and may be unstable. Do not share the files or unpublished information outside the BETA area.
6. The Whoniverse SMP
- To play, you need your own genuine copy of Minecraft: Java Edition, the version of NeoForge and DocMod shown on the Whoniverse SMP page, and to follow the rules shown there as well as these terms.
- No cheating clients, griefing, stealing or lag machines, and no abuse of bugs.
- Staff decisions on the server apply immediately. If you think a decision is a mistake, write to us.
- We can restart, change or reset the world, and stop the server, without notice.
- In-game money has no real-world value. It cannot be bought, sold, exchanged for real money or transferred outside the server.
- The Whoniverse SMP is not an official Minecraft server. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
7. Inventory items, ranks and themes
- Items, ranks and themes are given free of charge by DocTeam administrators. They have no monetary value and cannot be sold, exchanged or transferred to another account.
- To activate a rank or perk on the Whoniverse SMP, your Minecraft account must be linked to your website account. If an activation fails, you can try again later.
- DocTeam can change or remove an item, a rank or its benefits at any time, in particular after a breach of these terms, an abuse, an error or a reset of the server.
- The BETA rank gives access to the BETA area of the website for as long as you have it.
8. Availability
DocTeam is a fan project run in our free time. We do our best to keep the website and the server available, but we cannot guarantee it. We can interrupt them for maintenance, and change, suspend or stop any feature, the website or the server at any time.
9. Liability
The website, the mods and the server are provided as they are. As far as the law allows, DocTeam is not liable for indirect damage, loss of data or Minecraft worlds, interruptions, content published by members or other players, or content of external websites. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intentional misconduct or in cases where the law does not allow it.
10. Intellectual property
The rules about DocTeam content and the Doctor Who and Minecraft trademarks are set out in the legal notice.
11. End of your account
You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or delete an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Sections 3, 9 and 12 still apply afterwards.
12. Changes and applicable law
We can change these terms, for example when a feature is added. We update the date at the top of the page and announce important changes on the website before they apply. If you do not agree with the new terms, you can delete your account.
These terms are governed by Belgian law. We will first try to settle any disagreement amicably. Otherwise, the competent Belgian courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory rules that protect consumers in their country of residence.
